District Taxpayer Education Coordinators (TPEC) are your link to the wide variety of volunteer assistance and education programs offered by the Internal Revenue Service. Your local TPEC is available to help you with any questions, arrange for a speaker for your classroom, assist you with ordering tax forms and provide you with basic tax information.

Your local District Taxpayer Education Coordinator can also provide information on Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites in your local area. These sites offer free tax assistance to a variety of taxpayers. Also, some VITA sites offer free e-file services in their communities. Your local Taxpayer Education Coordinator and their staff are available to assist you year round with any questions or problems you may have.

Publication 1275 provides further information on the many additional volunteer programs that the Internal Revenue Service offers in your community.
